I have recently completed two Housing Management courses, the first was by the Chartered Institute of Housing on Housing Management and the second in Anti Social Behaviour and Estate Management, which I loved and I am now anchoring to go back to University in September 2010 to do the next level!
I live in a small village called Hilton near the city of Derby and have lived in and around this district all of my life. I am one of three children, having two older brothers who are both in the police force, both married with children. My mother & step father live local to me and my father & step mother live in Spain.
I have three children of my own, who are my everything, all boys! Lee is 20 and works full time as a horticulturalist and lives away from home, but close by. Oliver (Ollie) who is 15 and leaves school this year and plans to go to College to study Travel & Tourism with a view to becoming cabin crew. He leaves school on the 27th May (while I am away) so that may be a little emotional for me to miss! Then my youngest son, Joseph (Joe) is soon to be 14, he is a cadet with the Royal Air Force currently having flying lessons and is adamant he will either leave school and enter the regiment of the RAF or go into the Marines.
I shall turn 40 (lucky me!) while I am away on my trip to the States, so my children will miss that too! I am a single parent and have been for some seven years, although have dated men, not found my Mr Right yet!!
We have two cats, Snooze & Flix (both boys!) and a Guinea Pig called Alice (although soon to be another addition!)
I have been very fortunate to have travelled over the years from the Caribbean, America to the Far East with many European visits too and would hope to be able to see many more places the world has to offer!
I am also a trustee with a charity that is very close to my heart The Stan Bowley Cyberknife Trust. My bother, Alan who is now 42, eight years ago was diagnosed with Duodenal Cancer, which he received surgery for and had to be clear at his fifth year scan, unfortunately, at this final milestone, in April 2007, he was further diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and given only 6 months to live. Through guts & determination his wife found Cyberknife in Washington DC, refusing to believe that nothing more could be done. In September 2007 Alan went to Washington and received this miracle treatment and is still with us today and thriving. Our Charity is aimed at trying to raise awareness in the UK and after a recent visit to The House of Commons in London, asking the Government to bring Cyberknife here.
I would like to visit a Cyberknife Centre that is in Louisville.
I enjoy watching films and listening to music. I like to go to the cinema and have a great library of films at home. I listen to all genres of music but especially enjoy dance and the legendary Michael Jackson (who I am an avid fan of!)
I enjoy talking scenic walks, although do not get enough time at home to do this.
I enjoy dinning out and sampling new foods & wines. I am not a particularly fussy eater, but I do not eat dried fruits (currants / raisins / sultanas), coconut or marzipan. Other than that I will eat almost anything. I do like my Coffee & Coke.
I have enjoyed tandem parachuting and my next challenge is to wingwalk.
